ISSUES AND GOALS
EASING THE TAX BURDEN
As the new Sully District Supervisor, John Litzenberger will focus on broadening the tax base in order to ease the tax burden for homeowners and businesses. Attracting and keeping business owners in the area will allow new revenue which will in turn allow Fairfax County to maintain its high standards of education, infrastructure, and development without increasing property taxes.
BRINGING BUSINESS TO FAIRFAX
With the influx of business to Fairfax County there is the additional benefit of economic growth. New businesses bring with them new jobs and this is good news for residents who are commuting as far as Maryland and D.C. for other job opportunities. With proper planning and development, John Litzenberger will work on getting more of our residents to live and work in the same place, cutting down commuting expenses and travel time. Concentrating businesses inside Fairfax County will also make it more feasible to expand upon our public transportation system.
TRANSPARENCY & WISER SPENDING
Even more frustrating than elected officials who won't listen to the people, are the ones who make policy on behalf of the people without full disclosure or enough time for us to research and understand the consequences of their decisions. Transparency allows the community to see where their goverment is going and respond accordingly. This goes hand in hand with better use of tax dollars. When there is input on what is and is not needed or input on alternatives to an existing issue then the money can be allocated more effeciently.
